Introduction
Brace yourself for the festering dawn! This is REGIO VIII! Forget the dusty tomes of history! In REGIO VIII, you're plunged into a Roman Empire twisted by a creeping, alien blight and crackling with the untapped power of the mind. You're not just surviving; you're fighting for the soul of a slowly decaying imperium! Imagine: the legions march, but their ranks are shadowed by grotesque alien mutations. The Senate debates, oblivious to the psychic whispers echoing in the Forum. This isn't your grandfather's Rome! REGIO VIII throws you into a unique blend of gritty roleplaying and strategic card-driven gameplay. You'll grapple with the moral decay of a dying empire, the terrifying reality of an alien infestation that festers in the shadows, and the burgeoning, unpredictable power of psionics that could be humanity's salvation... or its doom.
Will you be a hardened agent of a desperate Caesar, wielding forbidden psychic arts to root out the alien corruption? A cunning mercenary, selling your mental prowess to the highest bidder in a world teetering on the brink? Or a fervent cultist, embracing the alien transformation as the next stage of evolution?

Game engine
Mind over fester. Cards over chaos.
Welcome to REGIO VIII, a unique tabletop roleplaying experience where narrative-driven RPG elements collide with the tactical depth of eurogame mechanics.
- Skill based characters: Condensed Skill list expanded by Focus options give an opportunity to customize your character as deep and unique as you like.
- Stimulating personality system: Define your internal struggles through Dilemma libre. Your character's personal Dilemmas, and the use of their extremes, provide strength in difficult situations and lay the foundation for your character's development.
- Resource management: You will use cards to run tests and you can save cards to be sure about test results. You can manipulate your storage based on your character’s abilities but be aware, your team uses a common deck of cards!
- Unconventional initiative framework: Circular initiative system supports the smooth tracking of action orders during gameplay. Use game mat to visualise initiative for strategic reasons.
- Luck is an option: Basically your decisions and resources give you strength, however you can call luck to help you if you like and make quickdraw.

About Us
CardWired - REGIO VIII. is more than just a game, but it is the fruit of an obsession spanning nearly seven years. Development began in 2019 with a singular mission: to create a resource management-based role-playing experience that offers a fresh perspective on this form of entertainment.
Parallel to the mechanics, an Ancient Rome began to breathe—one that history books have left in a merciful shroud of mystery. Here, in the shadows of marble columns, lie not only political intrigues but ancient, alien dark forces.
While I steer the project as a solo developer, a handful of dedicated allies have joined me on this journey. Talented artists helped give form to the nightmares, and relentless playtesters sharpened the ruleset into a fine blade. Without them, this world would have largely remained confined to the pages of my notebooks.
It has been building since 2019, card by card. And now, the time has come for you to step through the gates.
